Honey Fermented Garlic

A super easy way to preserve garlic…

Local honey and garlic

Peel your garlic cloves (we call them toes!) and put them in a jar, cover completely with raw honey. Tip- gently smash each toe with the flat side of your knife for easy peeling!

We found a cute farm stand that offered honey from a farm just a few miles from ours, and they also happened to have garlic. Score!

Put the lid on loosely and tuck the jar away in a dark spot. Every day or so, tighten the lid and turn the jar to coat the garlic. Loosen the lid and set it upright. Within a few days you’ll start to see bubbles and the honey will become runnier. You can use it at any time but the best flavor comes after a week or so. The garlic will mellow out and you can keep it for up to a year!

Garlic is one of the most potent and reliable herbal healers known. It is a powerful broad spectrum antibiotic. It is also antiviral, antifungal, antiparasitic and has proven itself through time.

Raw honey is an antibiotic, antiseptic, antitoxic, anti-inflammatory, and anti-fungal. It’s rich in vitamins, minerals and enzymes to boost our immunity which is especially important when fighting an illness.

Preserve your food and boost your immunity!
